Since 2006, we have been a viable and sustainable group pursuing viable and sustainable objectives.

About

Why Do We Need FaST?

Joining the different elements of support for the club together under one banner gives us greater strength and a louder voice.

The Trust will still recognise the individual worth of various supporters groups, for example the function of a supporters’ club would still be required.

Given our much-publicised and turbulent recent history there are many reasons why we need to form an active Supporters’ Trust.

How much will it cost?

We want FaST to be inclusive and reach out to all supporters.

To do this we will set an affordable annual Adult membership fee of £10. Junior FaST memberships cost just £3 per year and new Junior FaST members get a free gift upon joining.

As the Trust develops there will be greater flexibility in the type of membership packages available, but the basic £10 annual membership fee will be the cornerstone of our membership strategy.

What are FaST’s objectives?

Here is a selection:

  • To strengthen bonds between the club and the community it serves.

  • To represent the interests of the community in the running of the club.

  • To benefit present and future members of the community.

  • For a Trust representative to sit on the board of the football club

  • To be broadly representative of supporters in all that it does.

  • To be viable and sustainable as a group, and pursuing viable and sustainable objectives.

  • To gain financial influence by obtaining shares in the club. Fans would be invited to proxy their shares to FaST but this is a personal matter for each supporter.

How have Supporters’ Trusts made a difference?

  • Fans have formed more than 100 Supporters’ Trusts across England, Wales and Scotland. FaST has become Trust number 124.

  • A number of Supporters’ Trusts hold equity within their football clubs.

  • A number of football clubs have supporter representation within their boards.

  • Supporters own or control three football league clubs (Brentford, Chesterfield and Portsmouth) and supporters own seven non-league clubs (York City, Exeter City, AFC Wimbledon, AFC Telford, Newport IOW, Enfield Town & Clydebank).

  • Supporters’ Trusts have helped save 13 clubs.

  • Trusts have brought about £10M of investment into the game.

  • More than 85,000 fans have joined trusts.

  • Supporters’ Trusts have played a vital role in the survival of clubs in administration, including York City, Exeter City and Notts County.

  • Trusts have mobilised supporters and the local community, convincing businesses and individuals to come up with money to rebuild clubs.

  • Some trusts have given significant funds to help their clubs rebuild.
